About Me

I am a 58 yr old, former steelworker from the Calumet Region. I've been in Colorado for the past 6 years, working as a heavy equipment operator, ranch hand, logger and photographer. I have 2 grown boys, am divorced and love living in Colorado.

Interests

Alpine snow skiing, crosscountry skiing, bicycling (road&mountain), hiking, camping, whitewater rafting.

90 Days and counting

Its Feb. and I just pasted the 90th day on the mountain at Keystone Ski Area. The ski season and the Sharp Shooters Imaging photographer's job have been going great. We have not gotten the big snow totals like last year, but we've had some good powder days. Last Wed. was a 8" powder day at Keystone. It was my day off so I skied North Peak & The Outback. The runs all had ankle deep powder that was a blast all day. The tree runs on Pika & Grizzlie were fantastic. Best powder day this year, so far.

I am having problems with the snowlog I've been using on Facebook. It disapeared from the Facebook site. I am trying to use it but can't locate it. Hope this gets resolved.

A New Season 08/09

Its Oct 17th and A-Basin has been open for 3 days now. Last year I finished up the 07/08 season on June 3rd at "the basin." Gotta be the longest ski season in the country. Love it! I'm getting ready for the new season by securing my room in Summit County and job at Keystone Ski Area. I will be on the mountain 5 to 6 days a week, shooting portrait pictures of guests at the top of the Gondola, near the Summit House. We will have ski breaks each day so I can get 2 or 3 runs in. I will also ski down at the end of the workday. Its the first time I've actually had a job on the mountain where I can ski. The other part of this job that is so cool is providing pictures of families and friends that they can treasure for years to come. Can't wait to get started!
